Short Out is a film festival that has the ambition to represent a reflection's place on the issues crossing the suburbs.
Outskirts and suburbs: these are the themes of the first edition of Short Out Festival.
The enhancement of peripheral spaces is a central topic to explore expanding territories and with the purpose of understand an urban context that invests in centralization.
In the margins lives an unexpressed or not yet explored artistic lymph and the desire is to bring it to light, starting from Lainate, on the edge of the metropolitan city of Milan.
The first edition of Short Out Festival will take place from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th July, inside the natural spaces and courtyards of Villa Litta, emblem of the artistic, historical and cultural heritage of the city of Lainate.
We desire to create a widespread Festival that does not end with the screening of short films.
That's the reason we thought of a Short Off with a rich program of meetings during all three days of Short Out Festival.
The winners of the categories in competition will be awarded three prizes divided as follows:
Best Short: 1000 €
Best International: 500 €
Best National: 500 €

Short Out è un Festival cinematografico che ha l'ambizione di rappresentare un luogo di riflessione sui temi che attraversano la periferia.
Margine e periferia: questi i temi della prima edizione di Short Out.
La valorizzazione degli spazi periferici è un argomento oggi più che mai attuale per esplorare i territori in espansione e comprendere un contesto urbanistico che investe sull’accentramento.
Nei margini vive una linfa artistica inespressa o non ancora esplorata e il desiderio è quello di portarla alla luce, partendo da Lainate, ai margini della città metropolitana di Milano.
La prima edizione di Short Out Festival si svolgerà da venerdì 15 a domenica 17 luglio, all’interno degli spazi naturali e cortili di Villa Litta, emblema del patrimonio artistico, storico e culturale della città di Lainate (Milano).
Ci piace l'idea di creare un Festival diffuso che non si esaurisca con la proiezione di cortometraggi.
Per questo abbiamo pensato a un Fuori Festival, con un programma ricco di incontri durante tutti e tre i giorni di Short Out Festival.
