ITA: Italia, 2019. Carlo è un ragazzo italiano di 22 anni, ha un’anima contemplativa ed è tormentato da idee pessimiste sul mondo e su chi lo popola. Tramite la sua profonda sensibilità, studia tutto ciò che si trova intorno a lui, interiorizzandolo e soffrendone in prima persona. Egli è coinquilino di Simone, un ragazzo italiano di 24 anni che, a differenza di Carlo, ama la vita, la vive con pensieri positivi e rendendo parte a serate di completa spensieratezza. Carlo si ritrova a dover fare i conti con il suo modo di vedere il mondo e, a causa di questo, decide che è arrivato il momento di farla finita e di concludere la sua sofferenza, scegliendo la finestra della sua stanza come superamento del limite materiale e, quindi, della vita. Egli entra in un vortice di tentennamento: il suo istinto lo porterebbe a gettarsi oltre la finestra, ma qualcosa dentro di lui cerca di trovare ancora delle ragioni per protrarre la propria esistenza. È proprio a causa di queste sue intenzioni contrastanti che Simone, di ritorno da una delle solite serate, trova Carlo nella sua stanza rapito dalle sue riflessioni, nel buio, intento ad osservare la sua grande finestra e, oltre, il profondo blu della notte più oscura.
